Great Start to the year for

The start of 2011 saw the appointment to the
rank of Staff Cadet Warrant Officer to Cadet
Kinsey Williams. The rank of Staff CWO is the
only cadet rank appointed by Headquarters Air
Cadets under recommendation of the Wing
Commanding Officer. |

This year also saw SCWO Williams being selected
for Operation Snow Eagle.
This is where seventeen cadets from around the
UK went to Oberstdorf
for seven days to be given basic skiing training
by the Royal Air Force.
They also carried out snow survival exercises.
Each cadet had to support the cost of the camp
which was £325. Pyle Community Council donated
£100 to the cost, with the Squadron Civilian
Committee providing £160 and the remainder being
paid by SCWO Williams. |

Kinsey said it was an exciting time and the days
were long starting at 7am and finishing at 5pm
but she fully enjoyed the experience and was
grateful to Pyle Community Council and the
Squadron for helping her to fund it. |
